Introduction to a future graphic designer

My name is Robyn Mulhall, I'm 20 years old and live in Trim county Meath. Blue is my favorite colour. I attend ITB in Dublin and I'm a CDM Year 2 student. I enjoyed Year 1 of CDM apart from the Web dev module as it was draining and quite dull. My favorite modules so far have been photography, visual design fundamentals and visual creativity.
My favorite tv shows are The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Stranger Things. My hobbies include photography, painting (anything art related) and ballet. I've done ballet for the past 16 years and still enjoy it now.
I've one pet, a lilac British Shorthair cat named Anakin. He's a fat, fluffy cat with a serious attitude.  Here he is in all his glory:

I love listening to music and usually have earphones in my ears wherever I go. My favorite artists include The Killers, Coldplay, Hozier and Kings of Leon. I love horror movies and enjoy going to the cinema regularly.
Stephen King is my favorite author and The Shining is my favorite book! Some of my favorite movies are It's Kind Of A Funny Story, Stepbrothers Billy Elliot. As for my long term goals I hope to pursue a career in graphic design or photography once I get my degree.
My favorite food would be frozen raspberries, ice cream and fruit. All in moderation!
If I had one day of fun I'd more than likely spend it sleeping as college makes me exhausted.
I love animals, my favorite animals are penguins, pandas, cats and elephants.
I enjoy attending ITB. My first year of college was definitely a learning experience. I made new friends, improved my photography and design skills and learned new things such as making animations and editing videos. Photoshop was also a good class. it allowed me to get creative and let my mind express itself. I also did studio photography which was a lot of fun as we got to work in the studio once a week and shoot some pictures of objects or each other which was a great experience. I look forward to the rest of second year and I'm excited to see what the future holds.

  2. Robyn,
I really enjoyed reading your introduction week 1 blog post! I found it interesting to learn more about you. Yeah I get you, I'd probably spend it sleeping too. I'm exhausted by all the assignments from college. I love animals too! I'm more of a dog person but cats are cute too and so are penguins. My first year at college was also definitely a learning curve for me too because it was all completely new to me.

  3. Hey Robyn
I relate to basically everything you said in your blog apart from the ballet I am as uncoordinated as they come. I love Anakin he is so pudgy and small all I want to do is squish him. College is so tiring I also just want to sleep. I really enjoyed photography last year too I would love to see more of your work. Stepbrothers is a cinematic masterpiece I think I have watched it over 100 times. I can't wait to see more of your work!!!!!

  5. Hey Robyn, Really great post. I feel like I already know you just from reading your introduction. It is very detailed about you as a person and what you like and enjoy. Your cat looks evil but fluffy. I hope web design goes by quickly so you no longer have to suffer. Its refreshing to hear people still enjoy books and have favourites but what a nerd right :)

  6. Hi Robyn, Great post. I also really like your name. Your cat is stunning, and has a fab name! I too find Web Dev a bit dull it's too fidgety. Ballet is cool, I don't know much about it other than what I've seen in Billy Elliot. Thanks for your series suggestion on my post I will definitely give Parks and Recreation a go. It's cool that you know what you want to do after college. Anyway great post.

  7. Hey Robyn, thanks for your comments on my blog was lovely to read them! Anakin is so cute by the way he looks so fluffy. I loved visual design fundamentals as well it was the first time I had ever done anything in relation to design and I found it really enjoyable. Fair play for doing ballet for so long I did it until I was 12 and I quit which sometimes I regret a little bit. Love your music taste their some of my favourite artists as well. Loved reading this was great getting to know you!

  9. Hi Robyn, very interesting blog. I can see you like horror, I was never really into it but I'll admit that Stephen King is an exception. I'd listen to The Killers every now and then, mainly at parties cause everyone needs Mr Brightside every now and then. Damn doing ballet for 16 years! That's dedication right there. Overall a very good introduction, keep it up!

  10. Awwww, a British Shorthair cat! So cuteeee. I always wanted to get British Shorthair with golden coat or a Ragdoll, but my furballs don't really get on well with other cats...
I mean, hi Robyn! Thanks for the comment on my introduction. Answering your question - My favourite character from GoT... It's hard to pick, as there is soo many of them... I guess, out of the less well-known, it would be Shae and Oberyn. There was something interesting in them. From main characters - Tyrion and Sansa. What about yours?

You have really nice introduction and I'm glad you enjoyed first year, and don't worry about web dev... I think a lot of people hated it. Also, 16 years doing ballet... Wow, that is amazing, what got you into it?
If you ever have some free time, and looking for a book to read, I would suggest Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King~
It was nice getting to know you better!

  11. Hi Robyn, I enjoyed reading your introduction, I love Game of Throne and Stranger Things but never really got into The Walking Dead weirdly. It is really impressive that you have been doing ballet for 16 years you must really love it to be doing it so long. I like your cat and is his name based on Star Wars cause that's pretty cool if so. I definitely agree with you about college making you exhausted and I only live down the road so don't even have the added part of travelling to it. Good luck with this Robyn!

  12. Hey Robin, love the blog postm was so detailed and you get to learn so much about you. First year was great, I have to agree web dev was pretty boring and taxing and unfortunetly web design is no better. Great to hear you enjoyed photography and the design modules. Also youre cat is named Anakin? Thats brilliant, as a star wars fan I love it. Also does he hate sand by any chance? GOT and walking dead are pretty good but I havent kept up to date with them lately though. Also Its cool to hear to you want to get into photogrpahy or design as a future career. Goodluck with Year 2 and again great post.
